Our Egypt tours are fully escorted from your arrival to Cairo, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the experience carefree. You will have a private tour for this visit to Egypt, not herded around, giving ample time to absorb and experience the history and culture of ancient Egypt. Antiquity tour highlights include visits to the Giza plateau, featuring the Great Pyramid and Sphinx. The new Grand Egyptian Museum (if open) where you will marvel at King Tut's treasures. The famous temples of Ramses at Abu Simbel, Temples along the Nile from Aswan to Luxor, the Necropolis of Thebes featuring the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and the city Alexander the Great founded but Cleopatra made famous. All costs associated with these excursions including transportation, entry fees, guide, service charges and taxes are already included in the tour price. On your 5* Deluxe Nile cruise your cabin will provide panoramic views of the Nile.

Day 01: (Saturday) ARRIVE CAIRO, TRANSFER TO HOTEL
Arriving Cairo meet our staff as you exit the jetway into the terminal prior to immigration. They will assist with clearing immigration and customs then transfer you to the Mena House hotel where you will have a pyramid view, garden room. Overnight Cairo

VISAS: All travelers to Egypt are required to obtain a visa. Travelers from many countries can get theirs on arrival or on the web at:

Day 02: (Sunday) SAQQARA, DAHSHUR, GIZA PYRAMIDS, SPHINX
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby for a tour of Saqqara with the famous stepped pyramid (including entry to the elaborate tombs of Mereruka, vizier to king Teti and the tomb of Maia (King Tut's wet nurse and maybe half sister) plus the recently opened 4,200 year old tomb of Mehu, vizier to King Pepi I.
Continue to Dahshur with the first of the stone pyramids, the Bent (open for entry) and the Red. Then it's off to the Giza Plateau featuring the Great Pyramid and Sphinx with an optional photo op camel ride if you desire. Overnight Cairo

Day 03: (Monday) GRAND EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
An escorted full day tour of the new Grand Egyptian Museum where you will be amazed by King Tut's treasures. The museum is over 5 million square feet (about 3 times the size of the Smithsonian). Overnight Cairo

Day 04: (Tuesday) ALEXANDRIA HISTORIC SITES
Depart the hotel after breakfast and drive to Alexandria, the city Alexander the Great founded and Cleopatra made famous. On arriving tour the Alexandria National Museum, a world class presentation of Alexandria's history from its founding through the Middle Ages and visit the Greco Roman sites including the catacombs, Pompey's pillar and the amphitheater. Day 05: (Wednesday) ALEXANDRIA HISTORIC SITES, TRAVEL TO CAIRO, FLY TO ASWAN
In the morning continue your tour of Alexandria with a visit to the new library then return to Cairo and fly to Aswan. Arriving staff transfers you to the Movenpick Aswan resort where you will have a Superior Nile view room. Overnight Aswan

Day 06: (Thursday) ABU SIMBEL
Depart the hotel at 8AM for a road trip to Abu Simbel. Arriving tour the famous Temples of Ramses then return to Aswan arriving about 5PM. Overnight Aswan

Day 07: (Friday) NUBIAN MUSEUM, CRUISE EMBARKATION, HIGH DAM, TEMPLE OF PHILAE, UNFINISHED OBELISK, SUNSET FELUCCA
Start your morning with a tour of the Nubian Museum, a world class presentation of Nubia's culture and history. Then staff transfers you to board your Deluxe Five Star Nile cruiser, the M/S Mayfair or the M/S Acamar.
Lunch on board. Visit the high dam, tour the Temple of Philae and the Pharaohs Granite quarries with the unfinished obelisk. Then a late afternoon sail on the Nile in a Felucca (wind powered native sailboat).
Dinner followed by evening entertainment (please check with reception for the program schedule). Overnight Cruise / Aswan

Day 08: (Saturday) TEMPLE OF TWO GODS, TEMPLE OF HORUS, CRUISE TO LUXOR
Cruise to Kom Ombo and tour the Temple of Two Gods. Continue cruising to Edfu with lunch served while cruising. On arrival tour the Temple of Horus. Then cruise to Esna, cross the river locks and continue to Luxor. Dinner served while cruising. Evening entertainment. Overnight Cruise / Luxor

Day 09: (Sunday) NECROPOLIS, TEMPLES OF KARNAK AND LUXOR
Start your tour day with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Queen Hatshepsut's Temple, the Colossi of Memnon. Return to the ship for lunch then tour the Temple of Karnak and the Temple of Luxor. Dinner followed by evening entertainment. Overnight Cruise / Luxor

Day 10: (Monday) DISEMBARK, FLY TO CAIRO
Disembark after breakfast, staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Cairo. Arriving tour the Citadel of Salah el Din and Alabaster mosque then Old Cairo with it's famous churches and synagogue. Time for some last minute shopping at the Khan el Khalili bazaar where travelers have been finding bargains since the middle ages. After the tour staff transfers you to the Le Meridien Airport hotel where you will have a Deluxe room. Overnight Cairo

Day 11: (Tuesday) INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURE
Staff will assist with exit formalities and checking in for your international departure.

TOURS INCLUDE:
Domestic flights in Egypt (Cairo to Aswan, Luxor to Cairo) in Economy class. Transfers by air-conditioned vehicle relating to the tour program starting with arrival to Cairo. Baggage handling of no more than 1 piece of luggage per person however baggage and personal effects are at the owner's risk at all time during the tour (baggage handling does NOT include tips for bellmen, porters, etc.). Hotels (based on double occupancy). 5 star Deluxe Nile cruise with upper decks Nile view cabin, private bath, individual climate control. Meals as noted. Included meals are in the main dining room, no speciality restaurants or room service. Fees for visiting antiquity sites and museums that are part of the tour program.
